Craving a quick and flavourful dinner with minimal cleanup? This simple one-pan honey garlic chicken is easy to make, and perfect for busy weeknights. Juicy chicken thighs (or breasts) are coated in a sticky, sweet, and savoury honey, garlic and soy sauce that’s guaranteed to please. Pair it with steamed rice and/or veggies for a wholesome meal!
Ingredients
4 skinless chicken thighs (or breasts)
2 tablespoons olive oil
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
2 bell peppers (cut in slices)
3 tablespoons honey
3 garlic cloves, minced
2 tablespoons soy sauce
salt and pepper
½ teaspoon chili flakes (optional, for heat)
Optional Garnishes:
Chopped parsley
Sesame seeds
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 230C
2. In a bowl, whisk olive oil, honey, garlic, soy sauce, salt and pepper to taste,
3. Place the chicken in the sauce and toss to coat, then let it sit for at least 10mins.
4. In the meantime, cut the bell pepper in thin slices or any vegetables.
5. Place the chicken in the baking tray, toss the pepper in the remaining sauce, then spread evenly around the chicken. Then spread the remaining sauce onto the chicken.
6. Bake for 25-30mins at 200C
7. Serve hot over rice, noodles, or steamed vegetables, garnish with chopped parsley and sesame seeds.
Pro Tips
For extra flavour, marinate the chicken in the sauce for 30 minutes before cooking.
